The Rules

1. This is the most important

Drive safely. Know your own limits, this goes for your passengers and car too. Take care and pay attention to other road users. We cannot stress the importance of good road behaviour enough on an event like this. Please drive carefully.

2. Pre rally check-in

Check-in of pre-registered teams is required and will be held in Calais on the evening, immediately preceding the first official day of the rally. A time and place will be released to teams prior to the rally. Schedules will also be posted on the forum well in advance of the rally.

All registered drivers/passengers of your team must be present for the check-in process. Teams discovered to have taken on passengers outside the rally will be disqualified.

3. MOT and insurance certificates

Your MOT and insurance certificates are required and must be presented during check-in prior to the rally. Failure to produce your documents will unfortunately result in exclusion from the event.

GTI Challenge.com’s decision is final

Please guys no arguing.

Your car and drivers must have valid car insurance to drive in the UK and Europe. Anyone discovered without insurance will be disqualified from the Rally.

All drivers must also have a valid UK Driving license. Anyone found driving their vehicle without a driving license will be disqualified. If you are not from the UK, you must ensure that your driving license covers you in all the countries you intend to visit.

The car must have a valid MOT certificate that covers it for the whole rally.

Chosen Chariot

This rally is open to all hot hatches. Standard cars, show stars, bangers, modified machines; GTIs; GTs; GTEs; GSIs; XR3s; RSs; Sports; Type Rs; VTRs…

Basic Safty

Please do not carry fuel in petrol cans, jerry cans, or anything able to contain a liquid. France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy & Austria have perfectly good petrol stations. If you are determined to bring extra fuel you must have a working and tested Fire Extinguisher. It is your job to check the extinguisher before you set out on the Rally.

Foreign Compliance

It is the responsibility of each team to know, understand, and comply with any applicable driving laws of any country they may visit.

Some countries, for instance, may require certain safety equipment to be on board. Please check our Hot Links page for useful resources on the matter.
